RESETTLEMENT STRATEGY
The town of Lunenburg, steeped in colonial history and known for its waster-based industries such as trade, fisheries, and immigration, is now embracing a new vision that reflects the natural landscape of the area. Preserving its rich heritage, the town has transformed with the introduction of the “Tonglo” - a three-story, mixed-use building that serves as both a passage to the water and a gateway to the town. Taking inspiration from a jet bridge, the narrow and elongated structure features a service station for the iconic Bluenose II and offers residential space for its crew and seasonal workers in the town. As one traverses through the building’s hallway, they are reminded of simpler times and the beauty of traveling to both a new and old world.
